Right next to Emirates Palace is Qasr Al Watan – the Abu Dhabi Presidential Place, which we will visit during our city tour. Qasr al Watan is more than a palace, it is a unique testament to the spirit of the United Arab Emirate’s people and its leaders. The Palace invites the world to share the culture, knowledge and inspiring journey of the UAE. We will also drive-by and have a quick photo opportunity at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is probably the most famous icon of Abu Dhabi’s landmarks. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is considered to be the key site for worship in the country. The project was launched by the late president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who wanted to establish a structure that would unite the cultural diversity of the Islamic world with the historical and modern values of architecture and art. His final resting place is located on the grounds beside the same mosque. The mosque was constructed from 1996 to 2007 and it is the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates.
